Take Me Back

About three years ago I had an opportunity to deliver a training in New Zealand. Since I knew I probably wouldn't be able to get back there for a while, I took an extra week off to drive around the South Island. Wow! Take me back, please. It was a wonderful place to visit. Certainly would not want to live there, but its an amazing place to visit for a few weeks. My only regrets were taking only a small point and shoot, and renting a car instead of a mini-RV. Little vans with everything needed to car camp were everywhere and were definitely the preferred way to travel. There were plenty of hotels most of the time, but when I got to the southern point, I spent 4 hours searching for a place to stay with no result. Maybe they were full of tourists looking out to see the iceberg that was floating past.

I am not sure where I took this, but it is very representative of the views you can see on the entire island. It is truly a stunning place for a photographer. I think my next trip to Australia will have to include a side trip to New Zealand.
